Girls

Just wanted to brag a little about my girls. They both are doing well in school both with all As and one B. Katelyn come home and told me she is officially in the highest reading class!! Yay Katelyn. Ashley is reading score/test score is higher than Katelyn's (which makes Katelyn mad that her "little" sister is above her.) Ashley is reading at a fifth grade reader level in third grade outstanding! Ashley is just not very good at comprehending everything she has read. Being able to read at a fifth grade level is awesome but she still has the comprehension of a third grader. She gets really frustrated and I am not sure how to help her. IE at her reading level she is suppose to read pretty long chapter books but by the time she is done with it she does not remember what happened in the beginning or middle. HELP, she is so smart but I am afraid she is going to hate school and decide not to do her best because of the comprehension problem.

A few weeks ago we went to their school's math night where the kids got to play all kinds of math game. Ashley played with her teacher with a money game she did very well. She still is struggling with the idea of money. Katelyn played some kind of game with a classmate and the other childs parent come up to us and told us your daughter is a very smart cookie. We couldnt be happier with both of them. GOOD JOB GIRLS!! We love you and are very proud of you. Yes we still have homework battles but it is getting easier.

New look and updates

I decide to freshen things up and get a new look, for the blog that is. I love the colors in this layout so I went for it. Also I am hoping to be able to record my thoughts, feelings, ideas and frustration on here. I know that something may come up that all the details can be put on here but I promise be do a lot of honest blogging.

We just found out that Ben has to go to Philadelphia for 10 days in Dec for Master Resiliencey Trainer Training. Not competely sure what that means I do know from what I have read that the Army is trying to make sure each Garrison has atleast 1-3 trainers. This is a good thing for Ben, any addition training you can get with the Army helps with promotion. This is a Train the Trainer course. Given the way things have happened in the past and Army rotations Ben will be due deploy to the "sandbox" again in 2011. I am hoping and praying that with this additional training it will mean that Ben will be put on Rear-D or will get an instructor slot. (which means he will be nondeployable, but I am not holding my breath)
